3 Winter Skin Myths: How to correct winter sun damage!
min read
When the sun is hiding away behind the clouds and you’re on the ski slopes it is easy to forget about the sun’s harsh rays. Sun safety is the number one wrinkle reducing step you can take to prevent sun damaged skin, just before our silicone patches for wrinkles of course! We’re here to debunk common sun safety myths in the winter and give you some tips you can take away to help soothe your winter skin and reverse sun damage.
Myth #1 You don’t need to wear sunscreen in winter.
Sun damage is influenced by ultraviolet (UV) radiation, not the temperature outside. A cold and overcast day in winter can have similar UV levels to a hot, summer day! Opt for a sunscreen that is SPF 50+ and put it on each morning as the last step in your skincare routine before makeup. If you’re spending more than 4hrs outside, we recommend reapplying.
Myth #2 When hitting the slopes, the sun won’t affect me.
Fresh snow reflects up to 80% of UV radiation. A day on the slopes can really do as much damage as a day on the beach! Don’t forget to wear your sunscreen and wear protective clothing. And for those pro skiers, did you know that for every 1,000 feet in altitude, UV exposure increases by 4%? Don’t start seeing premature signs of aging whilst on a fun family holiday! Our range of Silicone Patches are great for hydrating and support the skin’s natural ability to hydrate the skin, retain the moisture, stimulate blood flow and as a collagen booster. Pair this with our Facial Plumping Sheet Mask to infuse a clinical grade serum full of collagen, peptides and hyaluronic acid into the skin to plump, hydrate and reduce uneven skin tone.
